Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Cook to join our catering team on an offshore vessel/rig. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for a large crew (10–100+) in a fast-paced, challenging remote environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent culinary skills, a strong commitment to food safety (HACCP), and the ability to maintain high morale through food service.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning & Preparation: Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, night snacks) for the crew, ensuring variety and high nutritional standards.
Food Safety (HACCP): Strictly adhere to international food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling, storage, and temperature logging of food.
Inventory & Ordering: Maintain accurate inventory records, manage food stock, and order supplies in advance, working within a specified budget.
Galley Hygiene: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen (galley), mess room, and dry/cold storage areas.
Special Diets: Accommodate dietary restrictions, including allergies, religious requirements, and health-related needs.
Team Coordination: Supervise/work alongside stewards and Galley Hands to ensure efficient service.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a cook/chef, preferably in industrial catering, oil rigs, or remote site environments.
Certification: Valid Cook Certificate and Food Safety Certification, RIG PASS
Safety Training: Valid BOSIET/FOET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) or equivalent required.
Medical: Valid Offshore Medical Certificate.
Skills: Ability to work long hours (10-12 hours per day) in a high-pressure environment. Proficient in English (both verbal and written).
