Job Summary:
The Sous Chef helps the Head Chef manage the kitchen. They make sure food is prepared and cooked properly, supervise kitchen staff, and maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
Main Duties:
• Help the Head Chef plan and prepare menus.
• Supervise and guide all kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
• Check that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality and presentation standards.
• Manage daily kitchen operations and ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Train and support chefs, cooks, and kitchen helpers.
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen.
• Control food costs and reduce wastage.
• Check stock levels, order supplies, and store food properly.
• Handle any kitchen issues when the Head Chef is not present.
Requirements:
• Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
• 3–4 years of kitchen experience, including leadership experience.
• Strong cooking skills and good knowledge of different cuisines.
• Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
