A Barista Cum Cashier is a dual-role position responsible for both preparing and serving coffee and other beverages, as well as handling customer transactions and payments. This role requires excellent customer service skills, proficiency in operating coffee equipment, and the ability to manage cash and credit card transactions accurately. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting with other cafe duties are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation:
Preparing a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, according to cafe standards. This may involve operating espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment.
Customer Service:
Greeting customers, taking orders, providing information about menu items, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Cash Handling:
Operating the cash register, processing payments (cash and credit cards), handling cash transactions accurately, and reconciling cash drawers.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Keeping the cafe area, including the counter, dining area, and equipment, clean and organized.
Stock Management:
Assisting with stock management, such as ensuring adequate supplies of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients.
Other Duties:
Assisting with other cafe duties as needed, such as opening and closing procedures, light food preparation, and general cleaning.
Food Safety:
Following all food safety and hygiene guidelines.
Customer Feedback:
Communicating customer feedback to management and contributing to menu development.
Teamwork:
Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
