Barista

Job Summary:

We are looking for an energetic and customer-focused Barista to prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee and tea drinks. The ideal candidate should have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve beverages such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, cold brews, teas, and smoothies according to established recipes and standards.

• Greet customers warmly and provide personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Take customer orders and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, equipment, and seating areas.

• Follow health and safety guidelines for food preparation and hygiene (including HACCP or local standards).

• Restock inventory and inform management of low stock or equipment issues.

• Handle cash, process payments, and issue receipts.

• Create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for guests.

• Assist in training new staff when required.

• Suggest products, upsell items, and answer questions about the menu.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer-facing food & beverage role preferred.

• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and early mornings or late evenings.

• High school diploma or equivalent; barista training or certifications are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Latte art and knowledge of specialty brewing methods (pour-over, siphon, French press, etc.)

• Strong sense of cleanliness and food safety awareness.

• Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented.
