Content Writer

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and passionate Content Writer to join our NGO team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging, meaningful, and impactful content that communicates our organization's mission, social initiatives, campaigns, and community impact.

The candidate should have strong writing skills, an understanding of social issues, and the ability to turn information and real-life stories into compelling content for different platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and edit content for the organization's website, social media, newsletters, blogs, reports, and campaigns.

• Create engaging content related to NGO programs, social initiatives, awareness campaigns, and community development.

• Develop human-interest stories, success stories, case studies, and impact stories from the field.

• Conduct basic research on social issues, development sectors, and relevant topics.

• Collaborate with the program and field teams to collect information, stories, photographs, and testimonials.

• Create content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube descriptions, and other digital platforms.

• Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and consistency.

• Assist in developing content for fundraising campaigns, donor communications, proposals, presentations, and organizational reports.

• Maintain a consistent tone and brand voice across all communication materials.

• Coordinate with the design and digital teams to develop creative campaigns and communication materials.

• Stay updated with current trends in digital content, social media, and nonprofit communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

• 6 months to 2 years of experience in content writing, copywriting, digital content, journalism, or a related role.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong command of English grammar, vocabulary, and storytelling.

• Ability to write clear, engaging, and audience-focused content.

• Basic knowledge of SEO and digital content writing will be an advantage.

• Familiarity with social media platforms and content trends.

• Good research and proofreading skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with teams.

• Candidates with experience in the NGO, social sector, education, healthcare, child welfare, women empowerment, or community development sector will be preferred.
