The Bank Cashier is responsible for managing cash transactions, handling customer queries, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures. This role plays a vital part in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the daily operations of the branch.
Cash Handling & Transactions:
Receive and pay out cash over the counter accurately.
Process deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
Handle cheque and demand draft transactions.
Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of the shift.
Ensure proper accounting of all transactions.
Customer Service:
Provide efficient, courteous, and prompt service to customers.
Answer customer inquiries related to basic banking operations.
Assist customers in filling out forms and applications.
Compliance & Reporting:
Adhere to the bank’s policies and RBI guidelines.
Detect and report any suspicious or fraudulent activity.
Maintain accurate records and submit daily transaction reports.
Ensure KYC norms are followed for all cash transactions.
Operational Support:
Coordinate with other departments for smooth functioning.
Assist in ATM cash loading and reconciliation.
Help with branch closing activities and audits.
Good numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Basic knowledge of banking procedures and financial regulations
Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and handle large volumes of cash
Proficient in banking software and Microsoft Office
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of experience in a banking or financial institution (Freshers may also be considered)
Knowledge of core banking systems is an advantage
Full-time position, typically during banking hours
Requires extended periods of sitting and handling cash
High attention to security and confidentiality
