Job Title: Cashier

Job Summary:

A Cashier is responsible for processing customer purchases accurately, handling cash and digital payments, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. They ensure smooth billing operations while delivering a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.

• Scan items and process sales accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.

• Accept cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and other payment methods.

• Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and credit notes as per company policy.

• Count cash at the beginning and end of each shift and balance the cash drawer.

• Resolve basic customer queries and direct complex issues to the supervisor.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout counter.

• Assist with stocking shelves, price checks, and inventory support when required.

• Follow company policies regarding cash handling, security, and customer service.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Basic computer and mathematical skills.

• Familiarity with POS systems is an advantage.
