Cashier

Job Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for managing billing and payment processes at the showroom counter, ensuring accurate transactions, excellent customer service, and proper handling of all payment modes. The role requires attention to detail, integrity, and efficiency in handling day-to-day financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Payment Handling:

• Generate bills and invoices for jewellery, sarees, and other items using the POS/billing software.

• Handle customer payments via cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, gift vouchers, and store credits.

• Apply discounts or offers as authorized and ensure tax compliance on invoices.

Cash Register & Daily Closing:

• Maintain accurate cash drawer balance during and at the end of the shift.

• Reconcile cash and card transactions with the system-generated reports.

• Report any discrepancies or system issues immediately to the Head Cashier or Accounts team.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers courteously at the billing counter and ensure a smooth checkout experience.

• Respond to queries related to billing, pricing, and payment options.

• Handle returns, exchanges, and issue credit notes as per showroom policy.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain receipts, invoices, and payment records accurately.

• Ensure secure handling of cash and other financial instruments.

• Follow company policies for cash handling, refunds, and billing procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 10+2 or Graduate in Commerce or any relevant stream.

• 1–3 years of cashiering or billing experience, preferably in retail or showroom environments.

• Familiarity with billing software and basic accounting principles.

Key Skills:

• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of POS systems

• Customer-focused with good communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy hours

• Honest, punctual, and responsible
