Operate the POS system efficiently for billing and checkout.
Scan items, process sales, apply discounts, and ensure accurate pricing.
Handle cash, cards, UPI, wallets, and other payment modes.
Issue receipts, refunds, credit notes, and exchanges as per policy.
Maintain the cash drawer with correct opening and closing balances.
Reconcile cash at the end of the shift and hand it over to the supervisor/accounts.
Greet customers politely and assist them during checkout.
Answer basic product/price/location queries.
Manage customer complaints or escalate to the supervisor when needed.
Ensure a smooth and pleasant checkout experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organization at the billing counter.
Ensure availability of carry bags, POS rolls, stationery, and other billing materials.
Support floor staff during rush hours if required (bagging, guiding customers).
Inform the store team about price mismatches or barcode issues.
Follow store SOPs, cash-handling guidelines, and security protocols.
Verify age-restricted items (if applicable – alcohol, tobacco, etc.).
Prevent billing errors, pilferage, and fraudulent transactions.
Adhere to daily shift procedures, including login-logout and float management.
Maintain daily transaction logs and exception reports.
Report system issues or discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
Assist in preparing daily/weekly cash summaries when required.
Coordinate with store managers, floor executives, and inventory staff.
Communicate customer feedback or billing-related challenges to the team.
