Job Title: Upholsterer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to repair, restore, and manufacture upholstered furniture. The ideal candidate should have experience in fabric cutting, stitching, foam fitting, furniture assembly, and finishing while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
• Repair, reupholster, and manufacture sofas, chairs, beds, and other upholstered furniture.
• Remove old fabric, padding, and damaged materials from furniture.
• Measure, cut, and fit fabric, leather, foam, and other upholstery materials accurately.
• Stitch and sew upholstery materials using industrial sewing machines.
• Install webbing, springs, cushioning, and padding.
• Assemble furniture components and ensure structural quality.
• Conduct quality inspections before final delivery.
• Maintain tools, machines, and workstations in safe working condition.
• Follow production schedules and meet daily targets.
• Adhere to workplace safety and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 2–5 years of experience in furniture upholstery.
• Knowledge of various upholstery fabrics, leather, foam, and cushioning materials.
• Ability to operate upholstery tools and industrial sewing machines.
• Good measuring, cutting, and pattern-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and finishing quality.
• Ability to read basic furniture drawings and specifications.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in custom furniture manufacturing.
• Knowledge of furniture repair and restoration.
• Teamwork and time management skills.
• Ability to work under production deadlines.
Working Conditions
• Factory/workshop-based role.
