Carpenter Furniture fitter

We are looking for a Furniture fitter to join our team at Shapers Talent Hire Services Private Limited to take on furniture making, installation and wooden repairs across residential and commercial projects. This role offers a competitive in-hand salary of ₹15,000 - ₹50,000 and regular work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut, shape and assemble wood for furniture and fixtures

  What You'll Do Day-to-Day • Cut, drill, trim, and shape glass fiber (GFRP) sections and aluminium extrusions/sheet to drawing dimensions • Assemble structural components using rivets, bolted fasteners, and structural adhesives (bonding) • Operate hand and power tools - power wrenches, angle grinders, rivet guns, drills, and similar shop equipment • Fit and align parts into sub-assemblies and finished structures, checking fit-up before final fastening • Apply protective coatings, sealants, or bonding agents as specified • Carry out basic quality checks - dimensions, tolerances, surface finish - and flag anything out of spec • Read and work from engineering drawings, cut lists, and verbal/written work instructions • Keep tools, machines, and the work area clean, organized, and safe (5S discipline) • Report tool wear, equipment faults, or material issues to the supervisor/engineering team promptly • Record material usage and parts produced for each shift/job • Pack, label, and stage finished parts for dispatch or the next process step • Where applicable, carry out MIG/TIG welding or tack welding on fixtures and metal components • Suggest improvements to process, jigs, or fixtures that reduce rework, scrap, or cycle time What We're Looking For • Genuine hands-on experience - not just theory. You've worked with your hands on real parts, not only in a classroom • Practical experience working with glass fiber composites (GFRP) and/or aluminium fabrication • Comfortable operating power tools and shop machinery safely and confidently • Good manual dexterity and an eye for detail - you notice when something is 1mm off • Able to read drawings and follow both written and verbal instructions accurately • Understands the cost of getting it wrong - scrap, rework, downtime - and works to avoid it • Can work independently once briefed, and also as part of a team • Physically fit for a shop-floor role involving standing, lifting, and manual work • Willing to learn new tools, materials, and processes quickly • Welding skills (MIG/TIG) are a strong plus, but not required if the rest of your fit is strong
  

Job Requirements:

The minimum qualification for this role is Diploma and 6 months - 6+ years of experience. Basic knowledge of tools like saws, drills, hammers and wall panelling is a plus.
