Carpenter Furniture fitter

Job Purpose

To measure, cut, handle, install, and fit glass panels in doors, windows, partitions, façades, shower enclosures, and other architectural applications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and install glass panels according to approved drawings and site dimensions.

• Fit glass in aluminium, UPVC, steel, and other suitable frames.

• Install glass doors, windows, partitions, mirrors, and shower enclosures.

• Handle toughened, laminated, and other specified types of glass carefully.

• Assist with glass cutting, drilling, polishing, and edge finishing where required.

• Install hinges, handles, patch fittings, clamps, brackets, and other accessories.

• Apply silicone sealant, rubber gaskets, and weatherproofing materials.

• Check glass alignment, leveling, clearances, and fitting quality.

• Identify and report damaged, scratched, cracked, or incorrectly sized glass.

• Coordinate with site supervisors, carpenters, aluminium fabricators, and other technicians.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and glass handling accessories.

• Follow safe lifting, transportation, installation, and storage procedures.

• Use appropriate PPE and comply with site safety requirements.

• Complete installation work within project timelines and quality specifications.

Required Skills

• Practical knowledge of glass fitting and installation.

• Ability to read measurements and follow installation drawings.

• Knowledge of glass types, thicknesses, frames, fittings, and sealants.

• Ability to use measuring tapes, drills, suction lifters, and installation tools.

• Understanding of glass alignment, leveling, and finishing.

• Careful handling of fragile materials and attention to detail.

• Good teamwork and communication skills.

• It is a Full Time Carpenter job for candidates with 4 - 5 years of experience.
