We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cosmetologist Trainer to lead, instruct, and inspire the next generation of beauty and wellness professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical training in hair styling, skincare, makeup artistry, and nail care. The ideal candidate should possess excellent domain expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping candidates meet both domestic and international industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training & Instruction
Deliver comprehensive practical and theoretical training modules covering Skin, Hair, Makeup, Bridal Artistry, and Grooming.
Conduct hands-on demonstrations of the latest beauty techniques, product applications, and safety protocols.
Prepare candidates for standard assessments, ensuring they meet the criteria required by relevant certification bodies (e.g., NSDC, UPSDM, or international skill verification frameworks).
2. Curriculum & Lab Management
Plan daily/weekly lesson plans and manage the training calendar effectively.
Maintain the beauty lab/salon training area, ensuring all tools, equipment, and cosmetics are sanitized, stocked, and safely stored.
Monitor inventory levels of training consumables and raise procurement requests as needed.
3. Candidate Assessment & Mentorship
Track and evaluate individual student progress through regular practical mock tests and viva evaluations.
Provide constructive feedback and extra guidance to students needing additional support.
Inculcate professional ethics, salon hygiene practices, soft skills, and customer service etiquettes in trainees.
4. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance logs, and batch progress.
Assist management during internal and external audits or surprise inspections by government/governing body representatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certification
Diploma/Certification in Cosmetology, Advanced Beauty Therapy, or Hair & Makeup Artistry from a recognized institute.
Preferred: Direct alignment or prior certification under beauty sector skill councils (e.g., B&WSSC) or vocational training frameworks is highly advantageous.
Experience
2 to 5 years of core industry experience working in a professional salon/academy or as a dedicated trainer.
Proven expertise in specialized segments like Bridal Styling, Fashion Makeup, and Portfolio Artistry.
Technical & Soft Skills
Deep knowledge of skin types, hair anatomy, cosmetic chemistry, and salon safety/hygiene practices.
Excellent public speaking, presentation, and classroom management skills.
Patient, encouraging, and professional demeanor.
Basic computer literacy (MS Word/Excel) for maintaining student logs.
