Basant Valley Global School is looking for an experienced and responsible Transport Incharge to manage and supervise the school’s transportation operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of students and staff while maintaining proper coordination with drivers, attendants, parents, school administration, and transport service providers.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the school transportation system.
Ensure all school buses operate safely, efficiently, and according to the approved routes and schedules.
Prepare, maintain, and regularly update bus routes, stoppages, timings, and student transportation records.
Coordinate and supervise school bus drivers, attendants, and other transport staff.
Ensure drivers and attendants follow school rules, traffic regulations, safety procedures, and transportation policies.
Monitor driver discipline, attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and performance.
Ensure students are picked up and dropped off safely and on time.
Maintain proper records of students using school transport, including route-wise and bus-wise details.
Monitor daily bus movement, trip schedules, attendance, and delays, and take corrective action when required.
Ensure that buses are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
Coordinate with workshops, authorized service centres, insurance companies, and vehicle dealers for servicing, repairs, breakdowns, and insurance-related matters.
Ensure timely renewal and maintenance of all vehicle-related documents, including RC, permits, fitness certificates, insurance, pollution certificates, road tax, and other statutory documents.
Maintain records of vehicle servicing, repairs, maintenance, tyres, batteries, fuel, and other operational expenses.
Regularly inspect buses for safety and operational requirements, including emergency equipment, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, CCTV/GPS systems, and other required safety equipment.
Monitor GPS tracking and address route deviations, unauthorized stoppages, delays, or other transport-related issues.
Handle and coordinate responses to bus breakdowns, accidents, emergencies, and other unforeseen situations.
Immediately report any accident, incident, student safety concern, or major transport-related issue to the school management.
Coordinate with parents regarding transport-related concerns, route changes, pickup/drop-off issues, and other operational matters.
Coordinate with the school administration regarding new routes, changes in transportation requirements, and student transport arrangements.
Ensure proper deployment of buses and drivers according to daily requirements and school activities.
Maintain transport-related registers, records, reports, challan details, and other documentation accurately.
Monitor traffic challans and ensure timely reporting and appropriate action as per school policy.
Ensure compliance with applicable Motor Vehicle Rules, traffic regulations, school transport safety requirements, and other statutory guidelines.
Assist the school management in implementing and updating transport policies and safety procedures.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transport reports for submission to the school management.
Coordinate transportation arrangements for school events, examinations, educational trips, competitions, and other special activities.
Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, vehicle, and other sensitive school information.
Perform other transport and administrative duties assigned by the school management from time to time.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification: Graduate / Diploma in Transport Management or relevant field preferred.
Experience: Relevant experience in school transportation, fleet management, transport operations, or a similar role will be preferred.
Good knowledge of vehicle operations, maintenance, traffic rules, permits, insurance, fitness, and other vehicle documentation.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to supervise drivers, attendants, and transport staff effectively.
Ability to handle emergencies and resolve transport-related issues promptly.
Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, email, GPS/fleet-management systems, and basic computer operations.
High level of responsibility, discipline, alertness, and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare transport-related reports.
Candidates must be willing to work according to the school's working days and transport schedule, including early morning hours and additional hours when required for school events or emergencies.
Candidates with experience in managing school buses/fleet operations will be preferred.
