We are looking for a Purchase Manager to join our team at Jolly Engineering Works. The role involves managing and updating information accurately and efficiently, supporting key data management processes, and performing various administrative tasks. The position offers ₹25,000 - ₹30,000 and opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the data remains accurate, accessible, and contributes to smooth operations.
Verify data accuracy, make corrections, and identify irregularities in a timely manner.
Organize and maintain physical and digital records for easy access and retrieval.
Support various administrative tasks when needed to assist other departments.
Generate reports and summaries for internal teams to help in decision-making processes.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
Job Requirements:
The minimum qualification for this role is Graduate and 3 - 6+ years of experience. The role requires excellent attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Candidates must be open to a 6 days working.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & Negotiation
Execute purchasing strategies that align with manufacturing volume forecasts and cost-reduction goals.
Source raw materials, specialty components, tooling, and machinery across global and domestic markets.
Negotiate high-value contracts, including pricing, lead times, delivery terms, and multi-year supply agreements.
Conduct market analysis to track commodity fluctuations (e.g., steel, plastics, electronics) and hedge pricing risks.
Inventory & Production Alignment
Optimize MRP systems (Material Requirements Planning) to keep accurate data on lead times, reorder points, and unit costs.
Coordinate with production scheduling to maintain uninterrupted Just-In-Time (JIT) workflow without overstocking.
Track stock levels and obsolete inventory alongside the warehouse team to maximize working capital.
Supplier Management & Quality Control
Audit supplier performance using structured scorecards measuring quality metrics, defect rates, and on-time delivery.
Perform site visits to vendor factories and distribution facilities to assess operational capacities.
Enforce quality compliance by resolving material rejection notices (RMA) and holding suppliers accountable to specs.
Departmental Leadership & Compliance
Manage purchasing staff, including buyers, material planners, and expeditors, delegating tasks and reviewing output.
Maintain purchasing budgets and report cost variances or savings initiatives directly to executive management.
Ensure legal compliance regarding contracting, safety guidelines, and environmental/ethical sourcing policies.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Graduate.
Experience: 5+ years of procurement experience specifically within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
Technical Skills: Deep proficiency with ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel functions.
