Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely purchase of quality materials and services at competitive prices. The role involves vendor management, purchase order processing, negotiation, inventory coordination, and maintaining procurement records while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
· Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate favourable commercial terms.
· Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved purchase requisitions.
· Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
· Coordinate with the Stores, Production, and Accounts teams for smooth procurement operations.
· Monitor inventory levels and plan purchases to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
· Verify purchase invoices and supporting documents before processing payments.
· Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.
· Ensure purchased materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
· Resolve supplier-related issues concerning quality, quantity, pricing, or delivery.
· Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· 1–2 years of experience in Procurement/Purchase (preferred).
· Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar ERP systems).
· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
