Job Description

Job Summary:

The Purchase will lead the procurement function of the organization, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of supply chain management, negotiation skills, and the ability to foster relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

A) Procurement Strategy:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and operational needs

2. Analyze the organization’s purchasing needs and establish a sourcing strategy to optimize supplier relationships and procurement processes.

B) Supplier Management:

1) Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.

2) Maintain and enhance relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with contracts.

3) Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary.

C) Cost Management:

1. Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions that align with the organization’s financial objectives.

2. Conduct market research and price analysis to ensure competitive pricing for goods and services.

3. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the procurement process.

D) Team Leadership:

1) Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

2) Set performance objectives for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations.

3) Provide training and resources to enhance the team's procurement capabilities.

E) Compliance and Risk Management:

1. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to procurement.

2. Assess and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including supplier reliability and market fluctuations.

3. Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.

F) Cross-Functional Collaboration:

1) Collaborate with other departments (e.g., finance, operations, and quality assurance) to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with organizational goals.

2) Support project teams in selecting and managing suppliers for specific projects.

Required Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

3. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

4. Proficiency in procurement software and systems.

Preferred Skills:

1) Experience in [specific industry related to the company’s focus].

2) Knowledge of contract law and regulations pertaining to procurement.

3) Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and market trends.

4) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5) Relevant certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
