Purchase Executive – Interiors
Role Summary
The Purchase Executive – Interiors is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all materials, finishes, furniture, and services required for interior projects while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery in line with project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and empanel vendors for interior materials such as plywood, laminates, hardware, glass, lights, tiles, sanitaryware, paint, furniture, and décor items.
Obtain, compare, and finalize quotations, ensuring best rates, quality standards, and favorable payment terms.
Prepare purchase orders/work orders and ensure proper documentation and approval as per company policy.
Coordinate closely with design, estimation, and project execution teams to understand BOQs, specifications, and project timelines.
Track and ensure timely delivery of materials to site/warehouse; follow up with vendors on delays or shortages.
Monitor and maintain optimum inventory levels for fast-moving items; avoid both stock-out and overstock situations.
Verify material quality and quantity against purchase orders and project specifications in coordination with site/warehouse teams.
Develop and implement cost-saving measures, alternate sourcing, and bulk purchase strategies.
Maintain and update vendor database, price lists, and rate contracts.
Handle vendor negotiations, dispute resolution, and relationship management.
Ensure adherence to company processes, commercial terms, and compliance requirements (GST, e-way bills, invoices, etc.).
Prepare periodic MIS reports on purchases, savings, vendor performance, and material status for management review.
Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline; preference for B.Com/BBA/BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Civil/Interior/Architecture.
2–5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in interior contracting, fit-out, construction, or furniture industry.
Basic understanding of interior materials, brands, and specifications.
Proficiency in MS Excel, email, and basic ERP/tally/procurement software.
