Procurement:
- Identify and source spare parts for machinery like pumps, aerators, and filters.
- Purchase chemicals required
- for the treatment process, such as coagulants and flocculants.
- Order new equipment or upgrades as needed for plant improvements.
Vendor management:
- Visit vendors and suppliers to negotiate prices and manage relationships.
- Coordinate with the plant's stores and maintenance teams for spare parts procurement.
Logistics and coordination:
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of all ordered items.
- Coordinate the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance staff to understand their needs and prioritize purchases.
Administrative and record-keeping:
- Maintain accurate purchase records and update the procurement database.
- Track purchase budgets and control costs.
- Prepare monthly purchase reports for management.
Compliance:
- Ensure that all purchased items meet technical and safety specifications required for a wastewater treatment plant.
- Stay informed about the specific needs of the plant, including requirements for different treatment processes (STP, ETP, RO, etc.).
