Purchase Executive

Responsibilities

• Responsible for procurement of construction materials, tools, and services.

• Coordinate with project/site teams to understand material requirements.

• Issue enquiries, obtain quotations, and perform comparative analysis.

• Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions with vendors.

• Finalize and issue purchase orders using systems.

• Ensure timely delivery of materials to project locations.

• Maintain vendor records, rate contracts, and material quality data.

• Identify and develop new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

• Monitor market prices, availability, and alternate materials.

• Follow up with suppliers for delivery and resolve delays or disputes.

• Ensure all purchases comply with company policy and quality standards.

• Prepare and submit purchase reports to management regularly.

• Coordinate with stores, accounts, and transport departments.

• Handle emergency and bulk purchases for fast-track projects.

Required Skills:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Sound knowledge of construction materials and specifications

• Familiarity with local and national supplier markets

• Understanding of GST, transport laws, and basic commercial terms

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Tally

• Strong planning, coordination, and time management

• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Education & Experience:

• Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing within the construction industry
