(1) Develop and implement purchasing strategies.

(2) Manage daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.

(3) Manage supplier relations and negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, etc.

(4) Maintain the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.

(5) Seek reliable vendors or suppliers to provide quality goods at reasonable prices.

(6) Negotiate prices and contracts.

(7) Review technical specifications for raw materials, components, equipment or buildings.

(8) Coordinate with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.

(9) Manage the maintenance of office/manufacturing equipment and machinery.

(10) Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

(11) Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets.

(12) Work to improve purchasing systems and processes.

(13) Train new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

(14) Oversee a team of inventory or warehouse employees.

(15) Manage inventory tracking systems to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels.

(16) Evaluate deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.

(17) Analyze daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.

(18) Manage schedules of employees, deliveries and shipments to optimize operations.

(19) Communicate with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues.

(20) Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients.

(21) Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.

(22) Monitor demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.

(23) Report on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to top/higher/upper management.

(24) Manage the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.

(25) Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed/required.
