Team Leader (Operations)
Role Purpose
The Team Leader – Operations is responsible for supervising the operations team and ensuring smooth, timely, and cost-effective transportation operations. The TL will monitor daily activities, guide team members, coordinate with customers and transporters, and ensure operational targets and service levels are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
1. Team Management
Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Operations Team.
Allocate work and responsibilities among team members.
Monitor team performance and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Guide, train, and support team members in day-to-day operations.
Conduct regular team reviews and identify areas for improvement.
Maintain discipline, accountability, and coordination within the team.
2. Transportation Operations
Plan and monitor daily vehicle placement and transportation activities.
Ensure vehicles are arranged as per customer requirements and timelines.
Monitor loading, dispatch, transit, and delivery activities.
Ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments.
Track pending, delayed, and critical shipments and take immediate action.
Coordinate with transporters and drivers to resolve operational issues.
3. Customer Coordination
Act as an escalation point for operational issues raised by customers.
Provide timely shipment and delivery updates to customers.
Understand customer requirements and ensure proper execution.
Maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication.
Handle complaints and ensure timely resolution.
4. Transporter & Vendor Management
Coordinate with transporters for vehicle availability and placement.
Monitor transporter performance, service quality, and delivery timelines.
Negotiate and coordinate freight rates where required.
Develop and maintain reliable transporter/vendor relationships.
Escalate repeated transporter performance issues to management.
5. Shipment Monitoring & Escalation
Monitor all active and critical shipments.
Identify delays, vehicle breakdowns, route issues, shortages, damages, and other exceptions.
Take corrective action and escalate major issues to the Operations Manager.
Ensure proper closure of operational issues.
6. Documentation & MIS
Ensure proper maintenance of LR, POD, invoice, e-way bill, permit, and other transportation documents.
Ensure timely collection and submission of PODs.
Verify operational data before submitting reports.
Prepare and review daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports.
Monitor pending documentation and ensure timely closure.
7. Cost & Efficiency Control
Ensure optimum vehicle utilization and cost-effective transportation planning.
Monitor unnecessary detention, waiting time, re-routing, and additional transportation costs.
Identify opportunities for reducing operational costs.
Support management in improving operational efficiency.
8. New Vendor / Transporter On boarding
Identify and develop new transporters/vendors as per business and customer requirements.
Coordinate with the management/procurement team for identification and approval of new transporters.
Collect and verify required transporter documents, including PAN, GST, bank details, vehicle documents, licenses, permits, insurance, and other applicable documents.
Conduct basic due diligence and verify transporter credentials, service capability, fleet availability, and operating locations.
Evaluate transporter capability based on vehicle availability, service quality, geographical coverage, pricing, reliability, and delivery performance.

Qualification & Experience
Qualification: Graduate or Post Graduate in any discipline.
Experience: 0–3 years in Team handling In the same Field , Total Experience would be 8 Years
