Job Summary
The Import Documentation Executive is responsible for managing end-to-end import documentation, coordinating with shipping lines, customs brokers, freight forwarders, overseas agents, and customers to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery of import shipments. The role requires accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, verify, and process import documentation such as:
Bill of Lading (BL)
Delivery Order (DO)
Commercial Invoice
Packing List
Bill of Entry (BOE)
Arrival Notice
Coordinate with shipping lines, customs brokers (CHA), transporters, and port authorities.
Ensure compliance with Indian Customs and DGFT regulations.
Track shipment status and update customers on cargo movement.
Resolve documentation discrepancies and obtain necessary amendments.
Maintain shipment records and documentation for audit and compliance.
Coordinate with overseas agents and internal operations teams.
Ensure timely customs clearance and cargo delivery.
Prepare reports and MIS as required by management.
Required Skills
Knowledge of import documentation and customs procedures.
Familiarity with ICEGATE and customs documentation (preferred).
Good communication and coordination skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and time management.
Ability to work under deadlines.
Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Certification in Import-Export or Logistics is an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate
1–4 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, CHA, or logistics.
Experience handling sea import documentation.
Good understanding of shipping terminology and customs regulations.
Salary
₹2.5–4.5 LPA (Negotiable based on experience)
