Computer Operator's Job Description (JD) involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, networks, and hardware, performing data entry, running daily operations like backups, installing updates, and providing basic user support to ensure smooth IT infrastructure functionality and data security. Key duties include error resolution, system backups, routine maintenance, managing work orders, and collaborating with IT teams for system efficiency and upgrades. Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Monitoring: Watch over computer systems, networks, servers, and mainframes for optimal performance and uptime.Maintenance & Updates: Perform routine hardware/software checks, install updates, apply patches, and conduct preventive maintenance.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues; escalate complex problems to senior IT staff.Data Management: Handle data entry, run reports, manage databases, and perform scheduled backups and data recovery.User Support: Respond to user requests, resolve basic technical queries, and provide guidance on system usage.Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of operations, system performance, issues, and resolutions; update procedures.Security & Compliance: Implement security protocols, manage access, and ensure data privacy. Essential Skills & Qualifications (Varies by role)Technical Skills: Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking basics, data entry, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and backup software.Soft Skills: Problem-solving, attention to detail, good communication, ability to work under pressure, and teamwork.Experience: Previous experience in IT support, data processing, or a similar technical role.
