Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the company’s day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficient execution of all inspection projects. The role focuses on manpower planning, equipment management, client coordination, project scheduling, quality compliance, and operational excellence.

The Operations Manager works closely with the General Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Plan and coordinate all inspection projects.

• Prepare manpower deployment schedules.

• Allocate qualified personnel based on project requirements.

• Ensure projects commence and conclude as per schedule.

• Monitor daily progress of ongoing projects.

• Resolve operational issues affecting project delivery.

2. Resource Management

• Optimize utilization of inspectors, engineers, and technicians.

• Manage allocation of PAUT, TOFD, AUT, UT, and other NDT equipment.

• Coordinate equipment movement between project sites.

• Ensure adequate availability of consumables and accessories.

• Monitor equipment utilization and minimize idle time.

3. Client Coordination

• Act as the primary operational contact for clients.

• Coordinate mobilization and demobilization activities.

• Attend project kickoff meetings.

• Handle day-to-day client operational requirements.

• Resolve client concerns promptly.

• Maintain excellent customer relationships.

4. Team Leadership

• Supervise Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Coordinators, and Inspection Teams.

• Conduct daily operational meetings.

• Monitor employee productivity.

• Guide and mentor junior engineers.

• Foster teamwork and accountability.

5. Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and client specifications.

• Verify inspection procedures before project execution.

• Review inspection documentation.

• Coordinate with the Quality team to address non-conformities.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to HSE requirements.

• Verify that personnel possess valid certifications and training.

• Conduct toolbox talks when required.

• Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.

7. Equipment Management

• Maintain operational readiness of inspection equipment.

• Coordinate calibration schedules.

• Plan preventive maintenance.

• Monitor repair and service activities.

• Recommend equipment upgrades when required.

8. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

• Monitor project progress and resource utilization.

• Track project completion status.

• Submit operational performance reports to the General Manager.

• Maintain accurate project records.

9. Cost Control

• Monitor operational costs.

• Reduce unnecessary project expenses.

• Improve manpower productivity.

• Optimize logistics and equipment deployment.

• Support profitability by minimizing operational inefficiencies.

10. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes.

• Implement best practices.

• Introduce operational efficiencies.

• Support digitalization and automation initiatives where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

• ASNT Level II/III or equivalent NDT certifications are preferred.

• Project Management certification is an advantage.

Experience

• 8–15 years of experience in Industrial Inspection, NDT, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Offshore, or Engineering Services.

• At least 5 years in an operations management or project management role.

• Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams.
