Banking Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Banking Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support day-to-day banking operations, assist customers with transactions and inquiries, and help maintain the smooth functioning of the branch or financial services team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a basic understanding of financial products, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and handle their inquiries in a professional and courteous manner

• Process customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments

• Assist with account opening and closing procedures

• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

• Support customers with online and mobile banking issues

• Refer customers to appropriate banking staff for advanced services or products

• Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and responding to emails

• Handle cash responsibly and reconcile cash drawer daily

• Promote and cross-sell banking products and services

• Help maintain branch security and compliance standards

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is a plus)

• Prior experience in a customer service or banking environment preferred

• Basic knowledge of banking procedures and financial products

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Good numerical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

• Friendly, professional demeanor with a focus on customer service

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  Working Conditions:

• Standard office environment or branch setting

• May require occasional overtime or weekend hours depending on branch hours

• Standing for extended periods when serving customers at the counter
