Backend Executive

Job Title: Underwriter – Motor 

The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and analyzing the risks involved in Motor insurance proposals- Private, commercial vehicle; Goods & Public carring vehicles, Misc. Vehicle etc. They ensure sound underwriting practices while working closely with insurers and clients to secure optimal coverage and terms.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Evaluate and assess insurance proposals as per IRDA underwriting guidelines and documentation for Motor insurance proposals- Private, commercial vehicle; Goods & Public carring vehicles, Misc. Vehicle etc.

2 Recommend suitable products, terms, and comparitive premiums to internal sales team/customers.

3 Coordinate with insurers for quote procurement, premium negotiations and policy issuance within TAT.

4 Ensure accuracy in documentation like proposal forms and endorsements.

5 Coordinate with internal teams – sales, operations, and claims – for smooth service delivery.

6 Maintain accurate underwriting records and reports.

7 Maintaining claim documentation for Private, commercial vehicle; Goods & Public carring vehicles, Misc. Vehicle etc.

Key Skills & Competencies:

1 Sound knowledge of underwriting practices across Motor products (including Private, commercial vehicle; Goods & Public carring vehicles, Misc. Vehicle etc).

2 Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

3 Excellent MS Office skills like advanced Excel, PowerPoint presentations.

4 Familiarity with IRDAI regulations and insurance systems.

Qualifications:

1 Preferably engineering  or any Graduate & Insurance certifications like Licentiate / Associate from III will be  preferred.

2. 2–5 years of underwriting experience in General Insurance  company or Insurrance Broking Company .

salary:

Freshers -15000 in training period and after confirmation salary will be as per company norms.

Experienced based on last salary and range is 25000-35000 based on skill set
