Project manager

Job Summary

The Interior Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing interior fit-out projects from initiation to final handover. The role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality, safety, and client requirements. The Project Manager acts as the primary point of contact between clients, designers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and the internal project team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Manage interior fit-out projects from inception to completion.

• Develop project schedules, execution plans, and resource allocation.

• Ensure projects are delivered within the approved timeline and budget.

• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when required.

2. Site Management

• Supervise day-to-day site activities.

• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and labour teams.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is progressing as planned.

• Resolve on-site technical and operational issues.

3. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project.

• Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates.

• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, consultants, and MEP teams.

• Manage client expectations and ensure timely resolution of concerns.

4. Vendor & Subcontractor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and manage subcontractors and suppliers.

• Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of materials.

• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure contractual compliance.

5. Budget & Cost Control

• Prepare and monitor project budgets.

• Control project costs, labour expenses, and material consumption.

• Review contractor bills, variations, and change orders.

• Ensure cost-effective project execution without compromising quality.

6. Quality Assurance

• Ensure work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

• Conduct quality inspections throughout the project lifecycle.

• Prepare and close snag lists before project handover.

• Implement quality control procedures across all project activities.

7. Material & Procurement Management

• Forecast material requirements based on project schedules.

• Monitor inventory levels and prevent material shortages.

• Minimise material wastage through effective planning and control.

8. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Conduct safety inspections and toolbox talks.

• Enforce PPE usage and safe working practices on site.

• Report and investigate incidents where required.

9. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project documentation, including BOQs, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and work orders.

• Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).

• Maintain project records, approvals, and handover documentation.

10. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and site staff.

• Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.

• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
