HVAC Design Engineer – Project Coordinator

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented HVAC Design Engineer – Project Coordinator to manage HVAC design activities, project coordination, technical documentation, and execution support. The candidate will coordinate between the design, project, site, procurement, and client teams to ensure HVAC projects are completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review HVAC system designs for commercial, residential, industrial, and other projects.

• Prepare HVAC layouts, ducting layouts, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and shop drawings.

• Perform basic HVAC calculations including heat load, airflow, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Technicians, Procurement, and Clients.

• Review project drawings, BOQ, specifications, and technical requirements.

• Coordinate design changes and ensure updated drawings are communicated to the execution team.

• Monitor project progress against planned schedules and coordinate timely completion of design deliverables.

• Prepare and maintain BOQ, material requirements, technical submittals, and project documentation.

• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for HVAC equipment and materials.

• Visit project sites when required to understand site conditions and resolve technical/design issues.

• Provide technical support to the site team during HVAC installation and execution.

• Check site measurements and ensure execution is as per approved drawings.

• Identify design clashes and coordinate with civil, electrical, plumbing, and other services.

• Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, approvals, and project-related documents.

• Prepare daily/weekly project updates and report major issues to management.

• Ensure projects follow company standards, safety requirements, quality standards, and client specifications.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC Design, Ducting, Piping, VRF/VRV, AHU, FCU, Chiller, and ventilation systems.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Knowledge of HVAC design software and calculation tools will be an advantage.

• Good understanding of HVAC drawings, BOQ, specifications, and material estimation.

• Strong project coordination and communication skills.

• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and project teams.

• Good problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.

• Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / HVAC / related field.

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in HVAC Design and Project Coordination.

• Experience in HVAC design, ducting, project execution, or MEP coordination will be preferred.

• It is a Full Time Architect / Interior Designer job for candidates with 6 months - 6+ years Experience.
