Key Responsibilities
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer
Mechanical (HVAC): Design heating, ventilation, air conditioning, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), ductwork, and smoke control systems to regulate indoor climate and air quality.
Electrical: Plan power distribution, transformers, switchboards, generators, interior/exterior lighting, fire alarm circuits, data networks, and lightning protection.
Plumbing & Fire Protection: Design potable water supply, sanitary drainage, storm water systems, gas piping, sprinklers, and fire suppression setups.
Design & Engineering
Perform load calculations, energy simulations, and system sizing using software like AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HAP.
Create detailed technical blueprints, schematics, and 3D BIM models to integrate systems into the architecture.
2. Project Management & Coordination
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and structural teams to eliminate spatial clashes on-site.
Prepare cost estimates, budget forecasts, and procurement schedules for equipment and materials.
3. Construction & Site Supervision
Monitor site installation to ensure work matches approved drawings and technical specifications.
Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.
4. Post-Construction & Operations
Troubleshoot operational issues and perform system retrofitting or energy-efficiency upgrades for older buildings.
