We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical/product design and development, preferably from the automotive, pneumatic, industrial equipment, machinery, or related sectors.
Key requirements include:
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks – part, assembly, sheet-metal, surfacing and manufacturing drawings
Hands-on experience in reverse engineering and new product development
Practical knowledge of pneumatic systems and component selection
Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection and BOMs
Experience in prototype development, testing, validation and production support
Exposure to manufacturing processes, vendor coordination and shop-floor activities
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering or related field
The CTC range is ₹5.0–6.5 LPA, depending on the candidate’s demonstrated hands-on capability.
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Design Engineer who can take ownership of automotive, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial product development from reverse engineering and concept development through prototyping, testing, validation and production.
This is an end-to-end product engineering role involving SolidWorks, pneumatic systems, reverse engineering, prototype development, manufacturing, vendor coordination and shop-floor support.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Reverse Engineering
Reverse engineer automotive, pneumatic and mechanical components and assemblies.
Study existing products and identify design improvement opportunities.
Perform measurements, material identification, tolerance evaluation and benchmarking.
Convert physical components, samples and concepts into accurate 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
Drive product improvement, localization, cost reduction and durability enhancement.
SolidWorks & Mechanical Design
Design and develop automotive, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial products using SolidWorks.
Create 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection, fits and clearances.
Design pneumatic circuits, valves, pressure-control systems, manifolds, reservoirs, fittings, hoses and actuators.
Take products from concept through prototype, testing, validation and production.
Pneumatic & Mechanical Systems
Work with pneumatic systems, airflow management, pressure regulation, valves, actuators, compressors and reservoirs.
Select pneumatic components based on pressure, flow, temperature and application requirements.
Troubleshoot leakage, pressure drop, flow restrictions and component failures.
Integrate pneumatic systems with mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
Apply knowledge of automotive systems, hydraulics, fabricated assemblies, machining and sheet-metal products.
Prototype Development & Testing
Plan and execute prototype fabrication, assembly and testing.
Develop test procedures, test rigs and validation plans.
Analyse prototype and field-test results and implement design modifications.
Perform engineering calculations, FEA, CFD, pressure calculations and flow analysis where required.
Conduct failure and root-cause analysis.
Ensure products meet functional, safety, durability, quality and customer requirements.
Manufacturing & Cost Optimization
Drive DFM, DFA, DFMEA, value engineering and cost optimization.
Design components suitable for machining, fabrication, welding, sheet metal, injection moulding, casting, forging, extrusion and 3D printing.
Work with production and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
Review tooling, fixtures, jigs and inspection requirements.
Support transition from prototype to serial production.
Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with vendors for component development and sourcing.
Communicate drawings, specifications, tolerances and quality requirements.
Work closely with Production, Quality, Procurement, Sales, Service and Field teams.
Resolve vendor-related technical, quality, fitment and performance issues.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering or related field.
2–3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design and development.
Proven experience in reverse engineering and new product development.
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modelling, assembly modelling, sheet metal, surfacing and manufacturing drawings.
Practical knowledge of pneumatic systems and component selection.
Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, machinery, pneumatic products or related sectors.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, sheet metal, injection moulding, casting and 3D printing.
Good knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection, BOM management and engineering documentation.
Experience in prototype development, testing, validation and production support.
Ability to work with suppliers, vendors and manufacturing teams.
Comfortable working on the shop floor, at vendor locations and during field trials.

Compensation & Career Growth
