JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
• Create, modify, and update detailed 2D engineering drawings and designs for static equipment.
• Prepare layouts, schematics, and detailed fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, columns, and other static equipment.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes (ASME, ANSI, ISO, etc.), and client specifications.
• Work closely with engineers to understand design requirements and provide accurate drafts and layouts.
• Revise designs based on feedback from engineers, clients, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that all drawings are properly documented and organized.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., mechanical, civil, electrical) to ensure drawings align with other engineering systems and specifications.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while preparing drawings.
• Apply knowledge of drafting standards, symbols, and conventions.
• Assist in the preparation of bills of materials (BOM) and other project documentation.
• Support quality control by reviewing and validating completed drawings for errors or discrepancies.
• Participate in project reviews and provide input on design improvements.
• Collaborate with team members and assist in the design and technical review processes.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in 2D drafting software (AutoCAD, Micro Station, etc.).
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and technical terminology.
• Knowledge of static equipment design (pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, etc.).
• Familiarity with engineering codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO, API).
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate drawings and designs.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and equipment.
• Ability to create fabrication and assembly drawings from engineering designs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) for documentation and communication.
• Knowledge of material specifications and how they impact design.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changes in design.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with engineers and other technical staff.
• Time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of 2D modelling software (optional, e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) may be an advantage.
• Experience in quality control and understanding of drawing validation processes.
Desired Skills:
• Understanding of piping design and integration of static equipment into piping systems.
• Experience in fabrication drawings for static equipment.
• Familiarity with process flow diagrams (PFD) and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Basic knowledge of 3D design software and the ability to transition between 2D and 3D formats.
• Familiarity with project management tools and collaborative platforms (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint).
