Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation: Meet clients to discuss style preferences, functional needs, room dimensions, and budgets. [1, 2]
Concept & Design: Create sketches, mood boards, and 3D digital models (using software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit) for custom furniture or spatial layouts. [1, 2]
Material Selection: Research and choose sustainable woods, metals, fabrics, and finishes that balance durability with visual appeal. [1, 2]
Prototyping & Production: Oversee prototype development, review joinery details, and ensure technical accuracy for manufacturing. [1, 2]
Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Work alongside builders, interior stylists, and craftsmen to ensure proper delivery, assembly, and installation. [1, 2]
Required Skills
Technical Proficiency: Strong command of CAD and 3D rendering software.
Material & Ergonomic Knowledge: Deep understanding of human factors, comfort, and material behaviors.
