Interior Designer

Job Purpose

To independently lead and execute interior design projects from concept to completion while ensuring design quality, compliance, budgeting, and timely delivery. The architect / ID will interact with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.

Activities

Design Brief G Requirement Gathering

Understand project goals, client vision, site conditions, and regulations

Document project requirements and constraints

Coordinate with internal team for feasibility check

Drawing G Documentation

Create and maintain list of required Design drawings

Prepare conceptual designs, schematic plans, and working drawings

Generate detailed layouts, elevations, sections, and 3D views as needed in co-ordination with internal design team

Client Discussions G Presentations

Conduct regular discussions with clients to present ideas and get approvals

Modify designs based on client feedback and site conditions

Present final concepts and walkthroughs

Budgeting G Planning

Assist in schematic budgeting and material selection

Align designs with project budgets and timelines

Coordinate with client projects team for preliminary cost estimates

Design Development G Coordination

Lead the development of approved design into detailed drawings

Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other consultants

Prepare detailed BOQs, compliance reports, and specifications

Prepare final GFC (Good for Construction) set

Site Coordination G Execution Support

Visit sites to ensure design intent is implemented(if required by client)

Resolve site-related issues in collaboration with site teams

Provide clarifications and revisions to drawings as required

Project Review G Documentation

Review ongoing project status, track deliverables and timelines

Maintain project-specific MIS reports

Ensure version control and archiving of design data

COMPETENCY / SKILL REQUIRED

Technical / Functional Skills

AutoCAD, Photoshop

Knowledge of construction detailing, MEP coordination, and material specifications

Understanding of building bylaws(basic), fire norms, and development regulations

Proficiency in preparing BOQ and cost estimates

Behavioural Skills

Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication

Self-starter, capable of managing multiple projects independently

Excellent organizational and documentation skills

Time management with ability to work under pressure and deadlines

Effective coordination with consultants, vendors, and internal teams
