Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Furniture Draftsman / Designer to join our team at our New Delhi location www.sdchome.co.in.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate loose furniture shop drawings, technical detailing, material specifications, and production-ready drafting for high-end residential projects.
This role requires excellent understanding of furniture construction, joinery details, and an eye for precision.


Responsibilities:
Create detailed shop drawings for loose furniture (chairs, tables, wardrobes, consoles, sofas, storage units, etc.) using AutoCAD.
Prepare production-ready 2D drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed joinery.
Develop exploded views, hardware details, assembly drawings, and cutting lists.
Coordinate with the design team to convert conceptual drawings into technical manufacturing drawings.
Translate client and designer inputs into accurate technical drafts.
Ensure drawings follow company standards and manufacturing capabilities.
Work closely with the workshop team to clarify details and resolve design/technical issues.
Prepare material specifications, finishes, edge details, and BOQ inputs where required.
Revise drawings based on feedback from designers, clients, or production team.
Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for every project.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting is a must).
Strong knowledge of furniture construction, joinery techniques, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to create precise technical drawings with correct tolerances and detailing.
Familiarity with materials such as wood, veneers, laminates, metal, upholstery, hardware fittings, etc.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers and workshop teams.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
Experience with CNC-compatible drawing formats (optional).
Knowledge of 3D tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, or SolidWorks (an added advantage).
Experience in high-end custom/bespoke furniture projects.
