About the Role

Samrath EPC is looking for a Site Engineer – Pipeline Laying to supervise and coordinate pipeline construction activities at our project site in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring pipeline laying and associated civil/construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day pipeline laying and installation activities at the project site.

• Ensure execution is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and BOQ.

• Coordinate activities including:

  • Route alignment and chainage marking

  • Excavation and trench preparation

  • Bedding and sand filling

  • Pipe lowering and laying

  • Jointing / welding activities

  • Backfilling and compaction

  • Road/culvert/utility crossings

  • Hydrotesting and commissioning support

  • Restoration of the work area

• Check pipeline alignment, level, depth, and installation as per approved drawings.

• Coordinate with surveyors, supervisors, subcontractors, operators, and labour teams.

• Monitor daily manpower, machinery, materials, and work progress.

• Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, site records, measurements, and quantity statements.

• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspection and testing activities.

• Ensure required inspection requests and quality documentation are completed.

• Identify site issues, drawing discrepancies, utility conflicts, and construction constraints and report them to the Project Manager.

• Monitor material availability and ensure proper handling and storage of pipes, fittings, valves, and other construction materials.

• Ensure proper implementation of HSE requirements at the work site.

• Conduct toolbox talks and coordinate with the safety team to maintain safe working practices.

• Coordinate with local teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders for smooth execution.

• Ensure work is completed according to the approved project schedule.

• Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and final project documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.

• 2–6 years of relevant site experience in pipeline laying / water pipeline / sewer pipeline / utility pipeline / infrastructure projects.

• Candidates with experience in underground pipeline construction will be preferred.

• Knowledge of pipeline construction methods, site measurements, drawings, and basic surveying.

• Ability to read and understand civil, alignment, profile, and pipeline layout drawings.

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel will be an advantage.

• Good coordination and site-management skills.

• Willingness to work at project sites and in field conditions.

Preferred Experience

• DI / MS / HDPE / PVC pipeline laying

• Water supply pipeline projects

• Sewerage pipeline projects

• Trenching and excavation

• Road and utility crossings

• Hydrotesting and pipeline commissioning

• Pipeline jointing and testing
