Create and optimize nesting layouts using software such as SigmaNEST, Lantek, ProNest, or similar.
Interpret engineering drawings and convert them into CNC programs.
Design or modify part geometries using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
Program laser, plasma, waterjet, or turret punching machines for sheet metal cutting.
Ensure optimal material utilization and minimize waste.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability.
Maintain and update job documentation, part libraries, and tool databases.
Troubleshoot and correct programming issues in coordination with machine operators.
Follow company safety and quality standards throughout the programming process.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, Lantek, ProNest).
Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Experience with CNC machine programming for laser, plasma, or punch machines.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of materials (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel).
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
