Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of Irrigation Layout Drawings
Create 2D irrigation system layouts using AutoCAD
Draft piping networks, valve locations, sprinkler zones, drip lines, and controller positions
Follow landscape and civil drawings to coordinate irrigation details
2. Design Coordination with Engineering Team
Work closely with irrigation engineers/designers to develop system plans
Interpret landscape architect drawings and convert them into detailed irrigation schematics
Assist in design of mainlines, sub-mains, lateral pipes, and zones
3. As-Built Drawings & Revisions
Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation changes
Update and maintain drawing revisions as per engineer/site feedback
Ensure drawing versions are properly filed and recorded
4. BOQ (Bill of Quantities) Support
Extract pipe lengths, sprinkler counts, and valve quantities from drawings
Support estimation team with quantity take-offs from CAD files
Coordinate with procurement or estimation teams for accurate material calculation
5. Documentation & Drawing Standards
Follow CAD standards (layering, line types, dimensioning, text styles, etc.)
Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions
Use title blocks and legends specific to irrigation systems
6. Site Coordination (if required)
Occasionally visit sites to verify dimensions or installations
Assist site team with drawing clarifications
Capture field adjustments to update final drawing
7. File Management & Reporting
Maintain a clear drawing filing system (digital and printed)
Submit drawings for review and approval
Keep track of drawing status logs
Job Requirements:
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D
Diploma/ITI/NCVT
Basic understanding of landscape irrigation systems
Knowledge of irrigation components: sprinklers, valves, pipes, controllers
Ability to read civil, architectural, and landscape drawings
