Panel Enclosure Designer
Position: Panel Enclosure Designer / Sheet Metal Designer
Industry: Electrical Control Panel Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
Design LT electrical panel enclosures as per electrical drawings and customer requirements.
Prepare GA, fabrication and detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.
Design PCC, MCC, APFC, VFD, PLC, DB, AMF and control panel enclosures.
Prepare sheet-metal layouts for cutting, bending, welding, drilling and assembly.
Select suitable MS sheet thickness, angles, channels, hinges, locks, gland plates and mounting arrangements.
Prepare DXF/DWG files for CNC laser/plasma cutting and bending.
Calculate and prepare BOM and material requirements.
Ensure proper IP rating and enclosure dimensions.
Coordinate with fabrication, electrical assembly and production teams.
Modify drawings according to site/customer requirements.
Check final fabricated enclosure against approved drawings.
Required Skills:
AutoCAD 2D; knowledge of sheet-metal design preferred.
Knowledge of electrical panel enclosure fabrication.
Understanding of MS sheet, bending, welding and powder coating.
Knowledge of CNC laser cutting and press-brake bending is an advantage.
Ability to prepare accurate fabrication drawings and DXF files.
Good knowledge of dimensions, tolerances and material specifications.
Experience: 1–5 years in electrical panel enclosure/sheet-metal fabrication preferred.
Education: ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or related field preferred.
