We are looking for a creative, technically sound, and detail-oriented Interior Designer who can handle projects from the initial design stage through working drawings, material selection, production coordination, and site execution.
Job Summary
The Interior Designer will be responsible for understanding client requirements, developing interior concepts, preparing 2D and 3D designs, creating detailed working drawings, selecting suitable materials and finishes, preparing BOQs/estimates, and coordinating with the production and site execution teams.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of modular furniture, furniture dimensions, materials, hardware, laminates, veneers, plywood/MDF/HDHMR, edge banding, fittings, and practical manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Requirement & Design Development
Understand client requirements, preferences, lifestyle, budget, and functional needs.
Discuss design concepts and provide suitable interior solutions.
Take accurate site measurements and understand existing site conditions.
Develop design concepts according to the client's requirements and project budget.
Prepare mood boards, material boards, colour schemes, and finish selections.
Present design concepts and 2D/3D visuals to clients or management.
Incorporate feedback and make necessary design revisions.
2. 2D & 3D Interior Designing
Prepare detailed 2D floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations, sections, and ceiling plans.
Develop 3D models and realistic visualizations of interior spaces.
Prepare detailed furniture layouts for kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, beds, vanities, storage units, office furniture, and other modular solutions.
Ensure designs are aesthetically appealing as well as practically executable.
Maintain proper dimensions and scale in all drawings.
3. Working Drawings & Technical Documentation
Prepare detailed working drawings for manufacturing and site execution.
Provide accurate dimensions, elevations, sections, and construction details.
Prepare furniture-wise drawings and specifications.
Provide details for shutters, carcasses, drawers, shelves, partitions, profiles, handles, and other components.
Ensure drawings are clear and understandable for production and installation teams.
Revise drawings based on site conditions or production requirements.
4. Knowledge of Materials & Hardware
The candidate should have practical knowledge of interior and modular furniture materials, including:

5. Modular Furniture Design
Design and develop modular furniture solutions such as:

Side Tables
Dressing Units
Study Tables
Crockery Units
Shoe Racks
Storage Units
Office Furniture
Wall Panels
False Ceiling Concepts
Partitions
Customized Furniture
Complete Residential & Commercial Interiors
Ensure that designs follow appropriate furniture standards, ergonomic requirements, and manufacturing limitations.
6. BOQ, Estimation & Material Planning
Prepare BOQs based on approved designs.
Calculate material quantities and dimensions accurately.
Provide material specifications and finish details.
Coordinate with the estimation/production team for costing.
Ensure the design remains within the approved project budget.
Minimize material wastage through efficient planning.
Identify changes in quantity or specifications during the project and communicate them to the concerned team.
7. Production Coordination
Coordinate with the production team to ensure designs can be manufactured as per drawings.
Clarify technical/design-related queries raised by production.
Provide necessary drawings and specifications before production starts.
Coordinate regarding material selection, hardware, dimensions, and finishing.
Review production requirements and make design modifications wherever required.
Ensure the final manufactured product matches the approved design.
8. Site Coordination & Execution
Coordinate with site supervisors, carpenters, installers, contractors, and other execution teams.
Visit project sites when required.
Verify site measurements and existing conditions.
Ensure execution is carried out according to approved drawings.
Resolve design and technical issues at site.
Coordinate changes arising due to actual site conditions.
Conduct regular site checks for design accuracy and finishing quality.
Ensure proper alignment between design, production, and installation teams.
9. Quality & Design Control
Ensure all drawings are accurate before sending them for production.
Check dimensions, materials, finishes, and hardware specifications.
Ensure the final product matches the approved design.
Identify design errors before production to reduce rework and material wastage.
Maintain quality and consistency throughout the project.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Interior Designing and Space Planning.
Good understanding of modular furniture design and manufacturing.
Excellent knowledge of furniture dimensions and ergonomics.
Knowledge of interior materials, finishes, and hardware.
Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
Ability to understand architectural and structural drawings.

Software Skills
Candidates should have good working knowledge of relevant design software such as:
AutoCAD – Mandatory
SketchUp
3ds Max
V-Ray / Enscape / Lumion or other rendering software
Adobe Photoshop / CorelDRAW – added advantage
MS Excel for BOQ and basic calculations
Educational Qualification
Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Interior Designing, Architecture, Furniture Design, or a related field.
Candidates with relevant practical experience in modular furniture and interior execution will also be considered.
