Senior Accountant

Key responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

• Cost Accounting: Analyze cost of goods sold, manage inventory, and work on cost decisions related to production.

• Reconciliations: Perform and oversee regular account and bank reconciliations, including accounts payable and receivable.

• Auditing & Compliance: Support internal and external audits, manage tax filings (e.g., GST, TDS, TCS), and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulations.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, and analyze variances from budget.

• Process Improvement: Review and improve accounting systems and internal controls to enhance efficiency.

• Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise junior accounting staff, plan their work, and mentor them in their professional development. 

Required skills and qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally with a focus on manufacturing.

• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKups and pivot tables.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.

• Experience with financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end closing.

• Experience with tax compliance and filing (GST, TDS, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
