Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Month-End/Year-End Close:
Manage and oversee the entire closing process, coordinating with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial close.
Reconciliation and General Ledger:
Maintain the general ledger, review journal entries, and perform reconciliations for accounts and bank statements.
Compliance and Audits:
Ensure compliance with financial standards like GAAP, assist with tax filings and audits, and serve as a point of contact for external auditors.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist with the creation of budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing historical data and identifying trends.
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and improve accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Supervision:
Train, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff and bookkeepers.
Analysis:
Analyze financial information, summarize financial status, and provide variance analysis to management.
Accounts Management:
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.
Requirements and skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Several years of experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
