Job Description for Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee our financial operations. In the fast-paced events and exhibition industry, you will manage project-level profitability, track material costs, and ensure smooth cash flow. You will act as a key partner to our project managers and executive team by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strict tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Cost Accounting
Track and reconcile all costs (fabrication, graphics, AV rentals, lighting, and manpower) against specific exhibition projects or client briefs.
Prepare and analyze Job Costing Reports to calculate net margins for every exhibition stall.
Billing & Receivables
Generate and dispatch accurate project estimates, proforma invoices, and tax invoices per agreed payment milestones (e.g., 50% advance, 50% upon handover).
Follow up proactively with corporate clients and event agencies for on-time collections.
Payables & Vendor Management
Process and reconcile vendor invoices for carpenters, electricians, freight forwarders, and freelance designers.
Manage sub-contractor accounts, ensuring correct TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) deductions and timely payouts.
Taxation & Compliance
Prepare and file periodic GST returns (e.g., GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), keeping track of interstate IGST for events held in different regions.
Ensure compliance with local and national corporate tax laws.
Financial Reporting
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and petty cash logs on a weekly basis.
Generate monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, or Finance.
Experience: 3 to 6 years of proven accounting experience, ideally in the event management, advertising, or construction/manufacturing industry.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Purchase Orders (POs), Performa invoices, credit/debit notes, and project-based financial reporting.
