Key responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Perform and oversee general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide management with insights and recommendations.
Prepare project-specific cost accounting, revenue recognition, and expense allocations.
Real Estate Specifics:
Manage financial transactions related to property acquisitions, development, sales, and leasing.
Coordinate with property management companies on accounting inquiries and issues.
Maintain records and perform reconciliations for bank and escrow accounts.
Tax and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and other local filings.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).
Coordinate with CAs for tax return filings.
Operational and Strategic Support:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments and client billing.
Support the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and internal controls.
Assist in preparing legal documentation and collaborating with legal teams on financial matters.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for real estate experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
