Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with in-depth knowledge of GST regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring GST compliance, preparing financial statements, and supporting audits and taxation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate GST filings including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation

• Prepare and maintain books of accounts as per statutory requirements

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions

• Conduct reconciliations of bank statements, vendor accounts, and ledgers

• Assist in statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits

• Monitor TDS compliance, payment, and return filing

• Provide support during tax assessments and scrutiny cases

• Coordinate with external consultants, vendors, and government authorities as needed

• Continuously monitor changes in GST laws and provide updates to the finance team

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong command over GST laws, accounting standards, and Indian taxation

• Excellent knowledge of Tally, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and MS Excel

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and team coordination abilities

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance

• Minimum 4–7 years of experience in accounting with strong exposure to GST compliance

• Certification in GST or CA Inter (preferred, not mandatory)

Work Environment:

• Office-based role

• May require extended hours during audits or return filing deadlines

• Collaborative work with finance, operations, and external auditors
