The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s overall accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely completion of monthly and annual closing activities. This role supervises junior accountants and works closely with management to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee journal voucher preparation.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights to management.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Monitor supplier invoices, purchase orders & GRNs.
Ensure timely vendor payments and reconciliation of vendor ledgers.
Oversee customer invoicing, receipts, credit control, and debtor management.
Taxation & Compliance
Handle GST workings, filing, reconciliation & return submissions.
Prepare TDS workings and ensure accurate filing of TDS returns.
Assist in statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Track actual vs. budget performance and highlight deviations.
Cash & Bank Management
Monitor daily cash flow and bank balances.
Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Payroll & Statutory Payments
Coordinate payroll processing with HR.
Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, and other statutory contributions.
Internal Controls
Implement and monitor internal controls over financial transactions.
Ensure company policies and accounting standards (IND-AS/GAAP) are followed.
Team Leadership
Supervise and guide junior accountants.
Review their work and provide training when required.
