Senior Accountant — Cgls Global Law
About the Role
Cgls Global Law is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our practice. You'll manage day-to-day accounting for a diverse client base, prepare and finalise financial statements, and support our tax, GST, TDS and statutory compliance work. The role suits someone who is hands-on with books, comfortable with Indian tax and regulatory filings, and keen to grow within a busy professional-services firm.
Compensation: ₹20,000 – ₹50,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications), with clear opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and finalise books of accounts (Tally / accounting software) — recording payments, receipts, deposits and expenses, and completing periodic and year-end finalisation.
Prepare accurate financial statements, projected/provisional balance sheets, cash-flow statements and budget forecasts.
Perform bank and account reconciliations, resolve mismatches, and reconcile ledgers, subsidiary balances and vendor/client accounts.
Support direct-tax compliance: computation of income, ITR preparation and filing, advance tax, and TDS/TCS return preparation, deposit and reconciliation (Form 26AS / AIS).
Support GST compliance: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and annual returns, input-tax reconciliation, e-invoicing and e-way bills.
Assist with statutory, tax and internal audits — preparing schedules, workpapers and supporting documentation.
Assist with ROC/MCA filings and other statutory compliances as required.
Analyse financial data to provide insight on clients' liquidity, cash flow and overall financial health, and prepare MIS reports for review.
Requirements
Graduate in Commerce/Accounting/Finance; a professional qualification or additional certification (Inter-CA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
5–6+ years of relevant accounting and taxation experience, preferably in a CA firm or professional-services environment.
Working knowledge of Indian accounting standards (Ind AS / Indian GAAP), the Income-tax Act, GST and TDS provisions, and ROC compliance basics.
Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel; familiarity with income-tax, GST and TDS return utilities.
Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and the discipline to meet statutory filing deadlines.
