Job Description: Senior Accountant (Finance & Compliance)
Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to oversee the end-to-end financial operations of our firms. You will be responsible for ensuring 100% compliance with GST and TDS regulations, maintaining impeccable Tally records, and managing inter-firm reconciliations. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between the business operations and our Chartered Accountant (CA), ensuring all data is audit-ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
GST Management: Accurate filing of GSTR-1 (Sales) by the 3rd of every month, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9 (Annual). Perform GSTR-2A/2B reconciliations to ensure maximum Input Tax Credit (ITC).
TDS/TCS: Timely deposit of TDS, preparation of quarterly and annual returns, and management of TDS certificates (Issue/Collection).
Income Tax: Timely preparation of data for Advance Tax payments and final Income Tax Returns.
2. Banking & Reconciliation
Multi-Bank Reconciliation: Daily/Weekly reconciliation of and other operational accounts.
Inter-firm & Personal Ledgers: Manage and reconcile internal ledgers across entities, Personal accounts. Ensure all internal payment transfers are completed in the bank.
Loan & Advance Monitoring: Monthly tracking of Car Loans, Family Account Loans, and other Balance Sheet items.
3. Receivables & Payables Management
Collection Tracking: Ensure specific monthly recoveries.
Ageing Analysis: Monitor and report on Debtors, Creditors, and Stock ageing over 90 days.
Suspense Clearance: Regular clearing of suspense entries in debtor/creditor ledgers across all firms.
4. Tally Operations & Finalization
Trial Balance: Maintain a "Clean" Trial Balance monthly; ensure zero Negative Ledgers or Negative Stocks.
Inventory Control: Manage Stock Journals and resolve Amazon Sale settlement discrepancies.
Data Liaison: Prepare and send finalized Tally data and supporting documentation to the CA for audit and filing.
5. Financial Reporting
Profitability: Generate Monthly Profit Reports and Balance Sheets (as per company format).
Cash Flow: Monitor Cash Sales, petty cash (Imp rest), and generate Cash Flow statements from Tally.
Ledger Hygiene: Ensure SGST/CGST/IGST balances are monitored.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 5–8 years of experience in an accounts-heavy role, preferably managing multiple group companies.
Software: Advanced expertise in Tally Prime and MS Excel.
Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of GST laws, TDS/TCS provisions, and banking norms.
Attributes: High level of integrity, "follow-up" mindset for collections, and the ability to work under strict monthly deadlines.
