We are looking for an Junior Accountant to join our team at Sustlabs. The role involves managing financial transactions of the organization, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The position offers opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely tax filings, computations, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Securely manage and back up financial data while maintaining confidentiality.
Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss reports.
Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations.
Job Requirements:
A perfect candidate for this role should have a keen eye for numerical accuracy. The minimum qualification for this role is BCOM/BAF and 1 year. Applicants must have knowledge about accounting and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Maintain day-to-day books: Record purchase and sales invoices, receipts, payments, expenses, credit notes and journal entries in the accounting system.
Keep ledgers accurate: Maintain customer and vendor ledgers, verify supporting documents and resolve missing or mismatched entries.
Complete reconciliations: Prepare regular bank, payment, petty-cash and ledger reconciliations and flag unresolved items to the Accounts Lead.
Support payables and receivables: Help prepare vendor payment schedules, track customer dues and coordinate routine follow-ups with internal teams.
Support tax compliance: Organise records and workings for GST, TDS and other statutory filings under the guidance of the Accounts Lead and external consultants.
Support billing and movement of goods: Assist with customer invoicing, e-invoices, e-way bills and the related documentation wherever applicable.
Help with month-end close: Prepare schedules for outstanding items, expenses, advances, accruals and other closing requirements.
Reconcile inventory records: Coordinate with procurement and operations to match purchase, dispatch and stock records with the books.
