Job Description for Junior Accountant

1. Financial Record-Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of vouchers, receipts, bills, and payments under the supervision of senior accountants.

2. Bank Reconciliation Support: Assist with bank reconciliation processes and ensure accurate documentation for review.

3. Tax Assistance: Help with basic TDS and GST calculations and documentation for timely submissions.

4. Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling sundry debtors and creditors accounts with guidance from the team.

5. Payment Coordination: Support payment follow-ups via telephone and email as directed.

6. Petty Cash Handling: Manage petty cash records to ensure proper documentation and accurate reporting.

7. Data Entry: Accurately input data into accounting software, including sales and purchase registers.

8. Banking Support: Assist with basic banking tasks such as preparing cheques, cash deposits, and NEFT/RTGS transactions.

9. Daily Accounting Tasks: Perform routine day-to-day accounting activities with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

10. Reporting Assistance: Help prepare basic Management Information Systems (MIS) reports and support the preparation of trial balances and other financial statements.

11. Software Skills: Demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word), and accounting software like Tally Prime (training provided if needed).

12. Audit Support: Assist with statutory and internal audits by organizing documents and records.

13. Cost Control Support: Contribute to cost reduction initiatives as directed by senior team members.

14. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team and assist in resolving basic customer or vendor queries.
